According to relevant experts from Beijing Electric Light Source Research Institute, LED lamps are light-emitting diode lighting products made of semiconductors as raw materials and high-tech computer chips. Compared with traditional lamps, they have no filament, no mercury, and no electronic powder. It can be called 'green lighting'. Because it adopts 'cold light source' technology, electric energy will be completely converted into light energy in this kind of lamps, but not into heat energy, and the efficiency of electricity consumption is greatly improved. Not only that, the life span of this light source can reach more than 20,000 hours, which is 7 times longer than that of ordinary light sources. If it is used as a street light, it can be used for 2500 days without maintenance if it is calculated as 8 hours of lighting per day. According to reports, this energy-saving lamp has passed the municipal new product certification this week, and its technology is at the leading domestic level.
At the appraisal meeting yesterday, Jia Jianping, director of the Night Scene Lighting Department of the Municipal Municipal Management Committee, said that once conditions are ripe, this energy-saving lamp will be promoted in the city’s street lamps and other night lighting facilities.
